Dear Reader, if you come to this site with a prior belief that there is no God or that the Bible is not an accurate revelation from God I would like to extend a very warm welcome. All I ask is that you that keep an open heart to what you hear and read . I say this because sadly the academic responses I have studied so far have not shown that approach (1). Having read their books and articles it became apparent that these writers had not studied their opponents arguments. Therefore, whilst they may be experts in their field of knowledge, these academics cannot claim expertise in their opponents field of knowledge (2). This is a shame because I would have valued a rigorous and thoughtful criticism of the points under consideration, as I find such a dialogue helpful to improving my own understanding of a topic. It is also unfortunate because the issues under consideration have the potential to be of eternal significance (3). The importance of this subject is best understood by what is popularly known as Pascal's Wager (3) which can be summarised as follows - if we bet against the God of Christianity and He exists then there are eternal consequences (4). However, if we bet for the God of Christianity and He exists there are eternal benefits. The wager acts as an stimulus to take seriously the subject of whether the God of Christianity exists and I trust this website will help in supplying evidence for His existence. (4) To understand what these eternal consequences might look like, as a thought experiment, imagine that when we see God face to face we were given God's perspective of our actions and thoughts and were also given God's sense of right and wrong - then reflect on the inescapable moral horror that a fallen soul made in God's image would then experience. It is to help us avoid this experience that led God to send His son to die for us- John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" - " For God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). What should our response be to God's love and our sinfulness? In the words of the apostle Peter "Repent, and ... be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ, and ... receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38)
